They have also tried to focus on some of the new sections of the latest syllabus – particularly the mathematical elements which may cause students some trouble.

However, if you are looking for lots of practice activities and exam style questions, you should consider the skills and practice guide below instead.

IB Economics: Skills and Practice: For the IB Diploma

Skills and Practice guides contain a wide range of activities to help students prepare for the final IB examinations. Geography textbooks

The IB Geography syllabus is split into three sections:

  • Core theme – Patterns and Changes, which is studied by all students;
  • Optional Themes, of which two are studied by SL students and three by HL students
  • HL extension, which contains seven topics that HL students must study

Be aware when browsing this section that not all textbooks cover the HL extension (or even the SL/HL options).

Geography Course Companion
Authors: Garrett Nagle and Briony Cooke
Pages: 448
Levels: SL and HL (complete syllabus)
Buy: Amazon, Worldwide (free shipping)

One of the key advantages of this text over the others is that the entire IB Geography syllabus is covered, including the optional components from which SL and HL students select topics, and the mandatory HL extension topics. This might make the book a somewhat more economical option than buying separate textbooks that cover each aspect of the geography course.
